Reflexology
Tutor: Kitty Fletcher LT Phys, MIGPP, BTHA, CTHA
Reflexology is a therapy that uses the feet and hands as a map of the whole body. By manipulating and applying pressure to certain areas of the feet, the whole body can be brought back to a state of 'whole-ness'. The effect of a treatment can be as deeply relaxing as a full body massage, and has the added benefit that the client can be seated in a chair and does not have to get undressed.
Reflexology tutor Kitty Fletcher offers a vast, encyclopaedic range of knowledge, underpinning her extensive Reflexology techniques.
On this course you will learn how to understand a person's condition merely by examining their face and feet or hands. The Reflexology routine Kitty teaches is a thorough and comprehensive covering of all the organs and systems of the body, and addressing many of the issues a client presents.
The training covers three main subjects:
- Reflexology Practice & Theory
- Anatomy & physiology
- Practice management
(If you are already qualified in A&P and Practice Management, you will not have to retake these subjects) The Reflexology course begins with eight full days' tuition (usually over weekends), then six guided evening practice sessions and course work.
The course is split into three stages:
Stage 1
This will cover eight days practical tuition spread over two months.
We encourage home practice as well as attending supervised evening sessions.
Anatomy & Physiology sessions, held one Saturday per month, will help you gain an insight into the fascinating workings of the human body.
You will also attend our certificated Emergency First-Aid day.
Stage 2
This comprises six, supervised, on-going evening training sessions, plus home-study and home practice. The Practice Management module will cover all aspects of becoming a professional practitioner, such as setting up your own business and marketing your skills.
Stage 3
The completion of course work, revision and preparation for exams.
